April 22nd is Earth Day
Earth Day is a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging us to come together and take action for a healthier planet and brighter future. This year the theme is 'Planet vs. plastics'.
By working in partnership with Bibi, Stellar Blue is committed to reducing the amount of plastic used in the end to end process, from production to consumption.
Sustainability is in the DNA of Bibi and Stellar Blue.
One step at a time, Bibi aims to reach 2030 by contributing more to a better future, benefiting children, the planet, and our people. To achieve this, in 2021 Bibi established a series of sustainability commitments aligned to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
We are a few years into this Bibi initiative, and many of these commitments are already reducing their environmental impact. For example, 100% of the materials used at Bibi are reused or recycled, and 100% of their energy is from certified renewable sources like wind and solar.
Sustainable packaging
When you purchase a pair of Bibi shoes from Stellar Blue, you wont find any plastic packaging.
All our shoe boxes are made from 100% recycled FSC or B Corp certified cardboard. The delivery bag, and the included return bag, is made of either FSC certified paper that can go in your recycling bin, or certified compostable material that can be included in your household organic waste collection.
Bibi shoe boxes also include cut-out characters that can be used for fun memory game before being put in your recycling bin!
